I think a good night sleep is essential, and I think many things go into determining a good night's sleep. When John Lewis approached me about working with them on their sleep campaign, I jumped at the chance because creating a sleeping environment has never been something that I've ever really taken into consideration.
But with the kids going back to school and everything that has been happening globally, sleep has become a bit more of a challenge for me, so I wanted to see if John Lewis could help me achieve a better nights sleep.
Over lockdown, our bedroom had become a bit of a dumping ground for toys, Homeschooling things, laundry and things that didn't have a home, so the bedroom was never really somewhere I wanted to be. It was always just somewhere you'd go to sleep, and that was it, but I wanted to create a place where I wanted to be a oasis just for Craig and me.
John Lewis has a vast array of products, and I selected my items by choosing the colour scheme I wanted first, and I went for calming pastel pinks and creams. I've always loved the light, airy rooms, which made pastels an excellent choice for me.
After a week of sleeping in our bedroom after is major freshen up. I have realised that caring about where we sleep does matter. So I strongly recommend just taking time to make your bedroom your place of zen even if you can't necessarily change everything. Think about buying one item, one item that makes you happy, a pillow, a vase, or a scented candle to make it that bit more special.
Good night.
